  • The University's logo will appear on the national team's official jersey together with Movistar and Joma.

UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, has renewed its collaboration agreement with FEJUVES (Spanish Federation of Video Game and Esports Players) after a historic 2023 in which Spain was proclaimed European efootball champion, thanks to Miguel Mestre.

The presentation of the sponsorship renewal continues the solid and successful collaboration between both entities, which work together to develop projects that highlight the positive aspects of video games and the job opportunities they generate in the industry.

This announcement also reinforces UDIT's commitment to putting e-sports on a par with other traditional sports at university level and consolidates its position as a key player both nationally and internationally. Thanks to this alliance, the creation of university teams and competitions, the development of specialised training programmes, and the organisation of events and conferences that promote the exchange of knowledge about esports will be promoted.

In addition, as a result of this agreement, the logo of UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology will be present on the uniform of the esports team together with Telefónica and Joma.

In its Official University Degree in Design and Development of Video Games and Virtual Environments, UDIT works to respond to the specific needs of esports, and to train professionals capable of facing the challenges of this industry. By addressing key areas such as design, scalability, performance, social interaction and community, without neglecting aesthetics, art and monetisation and business models, UDIT aims to train the professionals that the industry demands, and contribute to the growth of the sector.

"We are excited about this sponsorship agreement that allows us to work closely with FEJUVES to boost and strengthen the esports sector in Spain. It also gives us the opportunity to foster talent and innovation in our university community, consolidating our position as a leader in the design and development of video games and virtual environments," says David Alonso, Director of the Department of Video Games and Animation at UDIT.

On behalf of FEJUVES, Aidy García, captain of the CS2 national team, and the secretary, Nacho Chamorro, took part in the event, stating that "2024 is a turning point for esports thanks to the entry onto the scene of Saudi Arabia with a strong investment in the digital entertainment territory. The success of esports at the Asian and Pan American Games, the hosting of the Olympic Games in Paris and the study by the Saudi Arabian government

in Paris and the IOC's study of holding an Olympic Games exclusively for esports, mean that the sector is at an ideal moment to consolidate itself as the sport of the Digital Generation. This environment of fostering and projecting talent is exactly the work that UDIT is developing and we are proud to be able to continue working with a benchmark entity in the generation of highly qualified professionals".

Students attending the UDIT stand at the AULA Fair (from 6 to 10 March at Ifema) will also have the chance to see for the first time the official T-shirt that the players of the Spanish national esports team will wear at the international competitions in 2024.

Spain will compete this year in different games ahead of the 16th International Esports Federation (IESF) Esports World Cup:

● CS2

● eFootball

● Mobile Legends Bang Bang

PUBG Mobile Registration for the national qualifiers opens in March at www.fejuves.es.
