UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, has celebrated the graduation ceremonies for the 2023/2024 graduating class.

The students of the Official University Degrees in Product Design, Fashion Design, Multimedia and Graphic Design, Interior Design, Design and Development of Video Games and Virtual Environments, the British Degree in Animation, the Higher Degree in 3D Animation, Games and Interactive Environments and the Official University Masters in Illustration, User Experience, Fashion Design, Product Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design and Artificial Intelligence, were able to celebrate the end of one of the most important stages of their lives, as well as the passage to another equally exciting one, last Saturday 29th June, in two events.

Both ceremonies were presided over by Dr. Juan Cayón, Rector Magnificent of UDIT, who celebrated the work of all the students, as well as taking stock of these years of university education: "this event is full of symbolism and for you it means the culmination of much effort, the fulfilment of a goal, as well as for your families here present. And for the University, it is also the crystallisation of a duty fulfilled, the culmination of our work and effort to transform you as professionals and as people. For you, it is a rite of passage to a new professional life, and that is why we put on our academic robes, our medals and decorations, to try on one last occasion to serve you as an example, a model to follow in humility, in the knowledge, skills and competencies that we have tried to transmit to you with the best of our will. Nothing would have been possible without the commitment of all our staff: the commitment to give the best of each one in the task of perfecting your own future but also that of our society, in short, the commitment to demand and love for a job well done".

Two events to commemorate the end of an era in front of nearly 3,000 people

The event aimed at the students of the Degree and Higher Level Training Cycle, counted with the participation of Mrs. Núria Vilanova, President and Founder of ATREVIA, as the godmother of the promotion.

In her speech, Núria Vilanova recalled that: "The important thing is to try and, from there, the impossible can be made possible. [...] From the degrees you have studied, you can transform the world".

The academic faculty of the University was represented, for its part, by Dr Jaime Sanz de Haro, who was able to address the students: "I believe, dear students, that this is precisely what the University is: an institution that promotes citizens with critical thinking whose obligation is to think from the essential and profound aspects of things and never from the epithelial and arbitrary. An institution whose aim is not only to create good workers and good professionals, but also citizens who aspire to greater freedom through greater knowledge".

The graduation ceremony for the postgraduate students was attended by Mr. Jesús Hernández-Galán, Director of Accessibility and Innovation at Fundación ONCE, as sponsor of the graduating class, who stressed: "I encourage you to find your purpose in life, to find what you are really passionate about, what you would make an important effort for, that activity to which you would dedicate a lot of time...".

At this event, the academic staff was represented by David Pérez Medina, Director of the Master's Degree in Graphic Design, who emphasised to the graduating students that: "Remember that the secret of getting ahead is none other than to start taking one step after another. Today you have just taken an important step and you will take many more. On this path, never stop searching for the true purpose of your life, not only personally, of course, but also professionally".

Both graduation ceremonies are the most important moment of the academic year for the institution and become the perfect end to the students' formative years at the University.
