UDIT and Parfums Christian Dior: Innovation and Sustainability in Product Design
Parfums Christian Dior and UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology have worked together on a collaborative project focused on the circular economy, through which third-year students of the Degree in Product Design at the academic institution have been able to transform leftover materials from advertising campaigns and ephemeral displays of the brand into innovative products.
The challenge launched to the students was presented by Beatriz Torres, Marketing Director Iberia; Beatriz Lorente-Sorolla, Architecture and Visual Merchandising Director Spain; Sara Nevado, Architect & Visual Merchandising Specialist and Laura Espino, Trade Marketing Project Manager, all of them from the professional team of Parfums Christian Dior, who were also able to listen to the first proposals of the students, after their work under the direction and guidance of Professor Daniel García Sánchez.
Creative solutions focused on the circular economy
Fostering creativity and commitment to sustainability, essential characteristics in product design, are the main objectives of this collaboration through which students have had the opportunity to devise solutions that include modular display furniture, sustainable corporate gifts, as well as other non-marketable products, all of them reusing materials such as textiles, methacrylate, wood or cardboard.
The partnership developed between UDIT and Parfums Christian Dior underlines the importance of connecting future designers with the real challenges of the industry, offering an enriching experience that promotes both learning and social responsibility and resulting in proposals that not only reflect the brand's values of luxury and aesthetics, but also its commitment to the environment and innovation.
