  • Juan Lázaro, president of READ, Spanish Network of Design Associations, visited the UDIT University Campus to strengthen the collaboration.

As a result of the exhibition 'From Spain With Design: Identity and Territory' -sponsored by UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology- we have initiated a path of collaboration with this university.

In these first steps, our president, Juan Lázaro, has met in Madrid with the rector Juan Cayón, to get to know the university campus of UDIT and its different academic programmes, as well as to talk about the National Design Strategy and the projects and activities of READ.

This first contact has served to draw the foundations of a collaboration on which both entities wish to deepen in favour of national design focused on future professionals.

"From READ, and after years of work as interlocutors with the administration, as well as in defence and promotion of the design sector and companies, we want to start a path of collaboration with training entities, aware of the importance of the connection with the company and the training of future professionals", indicated Juan Lázaro.

For his part, Juan Cayón, Rector of UDIT, said that "UDIT is proud to support and sponsor this exhibition, which highlights and celebrates the exceptional talent of Spanish design. This exhibition represents a unique opportunity to highlight the creativity, technique and avant-garde vision that characterise Spanish designers and their contribution to economic and social progress".

"It is also a great satisfaction that the initiative will showcase some of our students' Product Design and Graphic Design projects, thus supporting the emerging talent trained at our institution," he added.

UDIT is National Innovation and Design Award 2019 and has more than 2,700 students. Its educational offer in the academic year 2024-2025 will include 12 Official University Degrees: Fashion Design, Multimedia and Graphic Design, Interior Design, Product Design, Design and Development of Video Games and Virtual Environments, Mathematical Engineering, Full-Stack Software Development, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Audiovisual Design and Illustration, Fashion Management and Communication, Animation and Advertising and Brand Creation.

At postgraduate level, UDIT offers eight Official University Master's Degrees: User Experience, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Illustration, Product Design, Artificial Intelligence, Fashion Design and Educational Technology.
From Spain With Design: Identity and Territory' will be on display at Matadero Madrid's Central de Diseño from 1 February to 17 March as part of the seventh edition of the Madrid Design Festival. Within the exhibition there is the so-called UDIT Space, to showcase the most interesting works of these emerging designers.
