A course packed with activity for the Master's in Illustration
Masterclasses by renowned illustrators, unique workshops and visits to exhibitions and emblematic places have made up its full calendar .
The 2024/2025 academic year has been marked, for the students of the Official University Master's Degree in Illustration at UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, by a calendar in which the activity has not ceased, allowing them to learn from the best illustrators and take part in unique initiatives, such as Ilustrafest, the Madrid Illustration Fair .
During this academic year, the Master's students have been able to enjoy the teaching of prestigious industry professionals such as Jorge Arévalo, Antonia Santolaya, Eva Vázquez, Pepe Medina, Víctor Coyote and Iván Araujo, who have been part of the academic staff.
A complete training, connected with the industry, which has been complemented through the different masterclasses and practical workshops organised by the Master's Degree throughout the course and given by illustrators of the stature of Isidro Ferrer, Jesús Cisneros, Nikita Rodríguez, Iara Chapuis, Jorge Ilustra, Javier Olivares, Matías Tolsa and David García Vivancos.
Both the master classes and the workshops, in addition to expanding the training received in the classroom, have allowed students to get closer to the industry and generate very useful professional connections in order to take their first steps in it .
Much more activity
The students of the Master's Degree in Illustration, as well as those of the Degree in Audiovisual Design and Illustration, have also been an active part of the third edition of Ilustrafest, the Illustration Fair of Madrid, organised by the Audiovisual and Graphic Creation Area of UDIT within the framework of Ilustraweek. A unique and enriching environment, where they were able to exhibit and sell their work, connect with renowned illustrators and enjoy interesting talks.
They have also taken part in enriching initiatives such as the one organised together with the Ateneo de Madrid, reimagining this mythical Madrid building through different illustrations that later formed part of the exhibition ARTE_NEO. Young Illustration .
In addition, throughout the academic year, the team of the Master in Illustration has organised different visits and activities outside the University, such as a sewing workshop with Yolanda Andrés, the Risografía workshop with Risoguapa or a practical botanical illustration class in the Retiro Park, as well as visits to the exhibition 'Cada vez que miras', by Javier de Juan, to the Palermo Printing House or the presentation of the book 'No cesarán mis cantos', by Javier Olivares, at the La Imprenta Bookshop.
In short, a year of frenetic activity, in which the students have received training with a practical vocation, have had their first contacts with the industry and have begun to work on an interesting and varied portfolio under the guidance of renowned professionals in the world of illustration .
