Artificial intelligence is redefining technological profiles. More and more companies are demanding talent capable of understanding, developing and integrating AI-based solutions to optimise processes, personalise experiences or develop new products. In this context, having an official certification that accredits knowledge in this area can become a key differential value for those who want to start or strengthen their career in the sector.

In this context, Microsoft has developed the Azure AI-900 certification, a certification designed to introduce students to the field of artificial intelligence in an accessible way and without requiring advanced technical knowledge. Its introductory and practical approach makes it an ideal complement to numerous training programmes, such as those offered by UDIT in its Higher Vocational Training cycles linked to technological development and digital innovation.

What is the Microsoft Azure AI-900 certification?

The AI-900 is an official Microsoft certification aimed at those who want to get started in the field of Artificial Intelligence from an applied perspective and is part of the certification programme of Microsoft Azure, one of the most powerful cloud platforms used globally.

Unlike other more technical certifications, the AI-900, also known as Azure AI Fundamentals, is specifically designed as a first step in this field, offering students everything they need to develop AI capabilities in all types of projects or, if they wish, to delve deeper into more technical aspects, such as those included in the Azure Data Scientist Associate or Azure AI Engineer Associate accreditations. To this end, the certification covers four main areas of knowledge:

Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence

It provides a clear and accessible introduction to the key concepts of AI: what it is, how it is used and its impact on different industry sectors. It covers topics such asmachine learning and reasoning(machine learning) and the different approaches to AI that are currently being used in a wide variety of sectors.

AI Services in Azure

Explains in a practical way how AI solutions are implemented in Microsoft Azure. The student will start experimenting with tools such as Azure Machine Learning, Azure Cognitive Services and other integrated resources that allow building intelligent applications in a scalable way in the Microsoft cloud.

Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing (NLP)

Introduces the basics of image analysis, facial recognition and object classification, as well as automatic language processing using techniques such as sentiment analysis, machine translation and conversational bots.

Generative artificial intelligence

One of the differential aspects of this certification is its focus on generative AI, which introduces developers to the tools provided by the American multinational both to develop new applications and agents, and to deploy them in Azure.

An intelligent future

As it is an internationally recognised certification and has the prestige of Microsoft, the AI-900 represents a strategic credential to improve employability in technological environments or as a starting point for future professional growth.

In the case of UDIT, this certification is part of the training itineraries of the Higher Degree in Multiplatform Applications Development and theHigher Degree in Web Applications Development.

This means that students who successfully complete either of these two degrees not only acquire a solid competence in the development of applications, but are also prepared to take their first steps in an area as important and currently so employable as artificial intelligence.

One of the great challenges in today's technological ecosystems is to identify opportunities for collaboration between agents with different profiles. This need was the starting point for the Master's thesis of Yannick José Medina, a student of the Master's in Artificial Intelligence at UDIT, who developed an innovative solution for Secpho, a cluster of companies specialising in DeepTech. His proposal: a conversational recommendation system based on artificial intelligence that facilitates and speeds up the connection between partners.
