Frequently Asked Questions

  • Because UDIT is a pioneer in university education in videogames in Spain and a recognised benchmark in the industry. Our commitment to fostering creative talent has been key in training professionals who now work in studios, agencies, and production companies both nationally and internationally.

We are active members of DEV (Spanish Video Game Association) and AEVI (Spanish Video Game Association), we have promoted the Madrid Video Game Cluster and collaborate with the Spanish National eSports Team, among other strategic projects.

This new bachelor’s degree arises from direct contact with studios: it prepares you to become a digital artist specialising in videogames, with a visual, narrative, and technical focus aligned with real production workflows. Here you are not just coming to study art. You are coming to build and become part of a global industry.

  • The Bachelor’s curriculum covers a wide range of subjects, including:

    • Fundamentals of Videogame Design: learn the basic principles of design, narrative, and playability.

    • Programming and Development: gain proficiency in the most widely used industry languages, such as C++ and Unity.

    • Graphics and Animation: advanced techniques in 3D modelling, texturing, and animation.

    • Project and Production Management: develop the skills to manage teams and videogame development projects.

    • Innovation and Technology: explore the latest trends in virtual reality, augmented reality, and other emerging technologies.

  • If you want to study the Bachelor in Design and Development of Videogames, you can do so without the need to have taken a specific high school track, provided you meet the access requirements set out in Article 3 of Royal Decree 412/2014. You also do not need prior knowledge of game engines, graphic creation software, or programming languages. All our Bachelors start from scratch, which means there is no need to have studied a specific high school track in these areas.

All our Bachelors start from the basics, so it is not necessary to follow any specific high school pathway related to these fields.

  • Yes, all the Bachelors offered at UDIT are official and internationally recognised.

  • In the Bachelor in Design and Development of Videogames and Virtual Environments, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects. For example, Jesús García, Dario Muñoz, and Alberto Liu, alumni of the Bachelor in Design and Development of Videogames and Virtual Environments, share their experience developing their Final Degree Project Knight Overhand.

  • All our Bachelors start from scratch, so there is no need to follow any specific high school track.

That said, due to the nature of our degrees, it is usually recommended to have completed a high school pathway in Arts or in Science and Technology.

The entrance test is designed to better understand the profile of each future student, in order to offer personalised guidance and, if necessary, reinforce certain prior skills such as artistic drawing.

In any case, you should not worry about your previous academic background when it comes to making the most of our degrees.

  • The Bachelor in Design and Development of Videogames at UDIT has a duration of 4 years, divided into eight semesters. During this time, you will acquire both theoretical and practical knowledge, ensuring a comprehensive education.

  • If you come from the Spanish educational system, to enrol in this Bachelor at UDIT you must meet at least one of the following requirements:

    • Having passed the University Entrance Exam (EVAU) with a PASS grade.
    • Students coming from a Higher Vocational Training Cycle (Grado Superior) or FP II.
    • Students accessing from completed Spanish university studies.
    • Students accessing through the University Entrance Exam for those over 25, over 40, or over 45 years of age.

Students coming from educational systems outside Spain:

    • Students from pre-university educational systems of EU member states and countries with reciprocity agreements.
    • Students holding the International Baccalaureate Diploma.
    • Students from foreign pre-university educational systems.
    • Students with completed foreign university studies who access through official recognition (homologación).
    • Students with completed or partially completed foreign university studies who access through official credit transfer (convalidación).
  • This Bachelor is focused on the technical side: programming, engines, AI, networks, backend, DevOps, and XR/simulation.

By contrast, the other Bachelor is focused on the artistic and design side: digital art, visual design, UI/UX, level design, and narrative.

Both share the first year to understand the entire process. From the second year onwards, you choose your specialisation and, with academic guidance, you can follow an official double degree pathway in 5 years.

  • The first step is to request information. You can do so through the website, by phone at 91 555 25 28, or by email at: orientacion.universitaria@udit.es

The next step is to take the placement test, which aims to assess the student’s academic competencies and identify any reinforcement needs before the start of the course.

Once the test has been completed and admission to UDIT has been confirmed, you must complete your enrolment reservation to secure your place for the upcoming academic year. Places are allocated strictly in order of reservation.

  • Of course. As this is an official Bachelor, you can apply for all public scholarships available for these types of degrees. In addition, official scholarships are compatible with our own internal financial aid. If you have a strong academic record or creativity is part of your DNA, do not hesitate to apply for all of them.

  • UDIT does not require a minimum entry grade to access the University Bachelor in Design and Development of Videogames. However, due to the specific nature of these programmes, prospective students must take UDIT’s own specific admission tests.

  • If you come from the Higher Vocational Training Cycle in 3D Animation, Games and Interactive Environments and wish to study the Bachelor in Design and Development of Videogames and Virtual Environments, a total of 60 credits will be recognised.

  • Contact Admissions and we will help you resolve them either through a call or a campus visit.
