2025, a year of awards and recognition for UDIT students

The talent of the university's students has triumphed in national and international competitions such as the Crystal Cabin Awards, the Young Ones Awards, the Pierre Cardinyo Young Designers Awards and the Biodesign  Challenge 

UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, has experienced a year 2025 full of emotions and recognition in the form of nominations, awards and projects in collaboration with brands with an important trajectory in their respective sectors 

A year in which the talent of its students has shone with its own light and has travelled all over the planet: from Madrid to Nanjing (China), via Barcelona, Bilbao, Hamburg, London and New York 

Product Design shines all over the planet 

In 2025, the Degree in Product Design at UDIT has celebrated a year full of awards, with outstanding students in national and international competitions. At the Crystal Cabin Awards, the project R.A.I.S.S.,by Jaime Campos, Mateo Magaz, Guillermo Fernández Arias, Pablo Gil García de Viedma and Antonio Alejandro González, qualified for the final, while Sombra y Brisa, the fan made from bitter orange peels by Pablo Pesqueira, Javier Villasevil, Marta Poy, Aaron Truzman, Carmen Carranza and Diego Rodríguez, did the same in theBiodesign Challenge. The projects ION, by Jerónimo Fernández, and NexoGIo, with an Honourable Mention for Sofía Martín also shone at the IDA Design Awards.

The area also won several prizes at the SIT Furniture Design Awards-Knett, by Begoña Sunyé de Terry and María Sánchez Sierra; Ava 3D, by Miguel González Ugarte and Beatriz Panduro Peiró; and Ángolo, by Diego Rodríguez Klecker-, as well as in the FIT Sport Design Awards, where Paula Machado for SPLICK and Andrea Torralba for her R4 Project were recognised  To these achievements were added the Verallia Competition, won by Marta Poy with Spark, and, as part of the same, theSocial Networks Award, given to Begoña Prendes for Espina de Oro

The year was completed with key collaborations with companies such as Hyatt, which awarded Marta Poy in a packaging design challenge, and Parfums Christian Dior, which selected the sustainable tote bag created by Álvaro Navarrete and Catalina de la Guardia, as well as the ecological decoration proposal developed by Sofía Ruiz Brenlla, thus consolidating the link between student talent and industry.

The students of the Audiovisual and Graphic Creation Area are triumphing in Spain and abroad.

In 2025, UDIT's Audiovisual and Graphic Creation Department had an extraordinary year, with triumphs in national and international competitions such as the Young Ones Awards, the LAUS Awards, the Pentawards, the National Design Awards in Mexico and the ANFACO Awards , among many others. The great protagonist was Daniel Alcolea, winner with his typeface Paramera in the Young Ones, LAUS Awards, GaudeamusPROJECTA and Selekted Bilbao, and also awarded in the Pentawards with Cabezonas In addition to these achievements, eight awards were won at the LAUS Awards, with prizes for Claudia Buezas, Leonor González, Ángela Urcelay and David Otero, as well as In Book distinctions for Mónica González, Irene Pando, Almudena Redondo, Antonio Sánchez, Luis Cházaro, Raquel Gago, Alcolea himself and Alonso Santamaría.

The area's talent has also shone in numerous competitions, such as the Reinterpreta la Puerta de Alcalá contest - won by Paulina Abelló JiménezCarla Kaubish Granados and David Valeiro Sanjurjo -and other recognitions that extended the list of successes: Arturo Rolando Estrada triumphed at Mexico's National Design Awards; Xiang Soto Reznak won the ANFACO Design Award; Adriana Baena, Rubén Serrano, Carmen Fernández and LyzethReyna were awarded in #VersionaThyssen; María Paula Barrantes was selected in Selekted Bilbao; Lara Alba was a finalist in the Hiiibrand Awards; and 16 students were selected for theD&AD New Blood Awards Other highlights were Elisaveta Kumanova, winner of the Women and Girls in Science Day photography competition, and Alejandra Cala, winner of the 8M Poster Competition

A very positive year for the Interior Design Department

The students of the Interior Design Area at UDIT have also reaped numerous successes throughout this year 2025. Starting with Belén Sánchez, a student of the Degree in Interior Design who received the National Interior Design Award for  her proposal Redes y Raíces (Networks and Roots).This success was replicated by Rodrigo de la Torre and Marina Tovar, alumni of the same degree, who won the LIV Hospitality Design Awards with their projects Vía Láctea and Hanami

In addition, María Ying, with her project Nexus, won in the Design of the Future category of the Porcelanosa Awards, while Hannah Valadés, Erica Gómez, Silvia Ruiz-Zorrilla, Lucía Villalba, Patricia Peinado, Lucas Claver and Andrea Reyes were finalists in the same competition.Likewise, Rodrigo de la Torre, Diego García and Lucía García were runners-up in the 10th edition of the InterCIDEC Awards with their project La Invitación

Lastly, María González de Jesús was a finalist in Antalia Decora V with her project A Fuego Vivo, and the group formed by Daniela Gálvez, Mercedes Masaveu, Ainhoa Montero, Marianna Palacinoand Paloma González-Tirrio, students of the Master's Degree in Interior Design, were the winners of the New Design Talent by B&B Hotels challenge, with their project Marca de Agua, which will be implemented in the B&B HOTEL Zaragoza Enlaces

The Fashion Area conquers major competitions and brands 

2025 has also been a brilliant year for the students of the Fashion Department. An example of this can be found in Blanca de Bonrostro, from Degree in Fashion Design, who won the prestigious international competition Pierre Cardin Young Designers Award, with her design The Rounded Suit; a competition in which Aitana González was also a finalist. In addition, Blanca de Bonrostro also managed to qualify as a finalist in the Greenwalk Awards, in which Sofía Church, Alba Izaguirre and Keyla Cabral shared her achievement , the latter being the winner of the Alicante edition with Mistura

Likewise, the team formed by Blanca de Bonrostroherself , Lidia Pérez and Laura del Río and Tomás Escribano and Hugo Vega were winners of the Manteco Academy's 2025 MANTECO SUSTAINABILITY AWARD thanks to their projects The Penny and Trench 31Néstor Arteaga won the UNOde50 Award for the authenticity, freedom and naturalness of the collection proposed during his participation in the university's fashion show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid .

Finally, Jorge García, Lydia Llano and, once again, Sofía Church, together with the students of the Degree in Fashion DesignLaura Muñoz and Alejandra Bonelo, won the Hackaton of Sustainable Fashion and New Materials, organised by the EELISA RC community of the Polytechnic University of Madrid

Many more successes 

This has also been a successful year for the Animation and Video Games and Technology areas. In the case of the former, the students of the Degree in Animation, Aitor Esteves, Javier de la Torre, Lucía Lorenzo, Noelia Gordo, Aisha Dirilo, Alessandra Rodríguez, Nerea Robles, Mariana Poiche, Carlos García, Alfonso de la Torre, Carlos García, Alessandra Rodríguez, Nerea Robles, Mariana Poiche, Carlos García, Alfonso de la Torre and Carlos García.Poiche, Carlos García, Alfonso Nieto, Sindy Fuentealba and Kiara Vázquez, were selected with their short film A Solid Future as finalists at the Los Angeles Film Awards (LAFA).

For their part, David Valero, Miguel Ángel Blanco, Víctor Manuel del Campo, Diego Fuentes, Norma Alejandra Martínez, Ignacio Tapia, Hugo Trillo and Álvaro Espinosa, from Degree in Video Game Design and Development, won the Best University Game Award at the BIG Indie Contest 2025, with their video game ZEP, while Pilar Martín-Peña, Iván Heredia and Marco López won the award for Best Original Idea at the Zamora CYL Games Show thanks to their game Patata Caliente

In the Technology Area, UDIT students participated in the ASTI Robotics Challenge, with four teams, made up of students from the degrees in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and Full-Stack Development, representing the university in the final. 

In short, a year full of successes that reaffirm UDIT's commitment to excellence and, of course, recognise the talent of the University Community
