From Monday 24 February to Thursday 27 February, Johan Escalona gave a workshop on the creation of animation projects with Artificial Intelligence.

This workshop, organised by the Degree in Animation at UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, consisted of a practical course aimed at animators and visual creators interested in integrating artificial intelligence into their creative process without losing their stylistic essence.

Through prompt crafting exercises, Johan Escalona taught how to generate images with their own visual identity, exploring free and paid tools to develop a 30 to 60 second animation. In addition, AI-assisted generation has also been combined with manual intervention, guiding participants from conceptualisation to hybrid execution, to design a visual language.

AI Generative AI Specialist

Johan Escalona is an artist and Generative AI specialist, whose career merges technological innovation and visual storytelling. Escalona has participated in pioneering projects for global brands such as Bershka (creation of digital campaign); Cristalia, (development of immersive nature content for architectural displays) and TOUS (creation of fashion catalogues with synthetic models).

As a speaker at NYU, Joahn Escalona explores the intersections between art, design and artificial intelligence, proposing an approach where technology amplifies human expression without replacing it. His work seeks to develop new visual languages in which AI and creativity coexist organically.
