From Coco Chanel to Cristóbal Balenciaga: six designers who changed the rules of women's wardrobes
"Coco Chanel's contribution to a woman's wardrobe was that she designed for herself. That was her key; a woman designing for the times. As with Sonia Delaunay, who was an ambassador for her own label, an arbiter of style. Chanel created the clothes she wore and, therefore, a basic wardrobe for a working, active woman who practised sport", according to Ana Llorente, Researcher and Lecturer in the Fashion Department at UDIT.
