ESNE opens registrations for guided tours of the best design in Madrid
ESNE, the University of Design and Technology, is once again collaborating with Madrid Design Festival, the event that raises awareness of the excellence and importance of the work carried out by designers and gives visibility to a discipline that is crucial to improving people's lives.Under the name of Walk & Talk Routes, the University will organise free visits with professors and graduates from the Institution as guides, who will show participants the design of the capital.Each of the tours will focus on a specific theme and will show the most representative examples of each of these areas of design.The visits last an estimated 90 minutes, are open to the general public and will take place in groups of 25 people between 18 February and 11 March.Route through the Signs of Madrid de las Letras. Pan de Oro, azulejo, chulapos and barquilloAlong this route,lovers of graphic design and typography will be able to discover some of the most emblematic signs and signposts in Madrid's Barrio de las Letras.Dates: 18 and 25 February, 4 and 11 MarchTime: 11.00 a.m.Route through the History of Fashion at the Museo del Traje. Silks, embroideries, textures and trimmingsThis visit will analyse the French Baroque, the magnificent qualities and varieties of silk, textures and trimmings, as well as its influence on Spanish Baroque fashion and the emergence of the Goyaesque style as a defence of the national spirit.It will also show the characteristics, materials and objectives of neoclassicism, romanticism and bourgeois fashion, to see how these patterns lead to Contemporary Fashion, Haute Couture and Prêt-à-porter.Dates: 25 February, 4 and 11 MarchTime: 10.30 a.m.InteriorDesign Route.An immersion in designer furniture, sketches, plans, fabrics and wallpaperFurniture, textiles, lighting... These are just some of the elements of interior design that are present in everyday life. This route will visit some of the leading interior design spaces in the capital, such as the firm Gancedo, leader in textiles; Pilma, specialising in furniture and decoration, and L.A. Studio, a design and interior design studio.Dates: 18 and 25 February, 4 and 11 MarchTime: 11.00 a.m.Product Design Route (this is the only one that changes from last year)Technology, avant-garde, quality, functionality and sustainability are some of the characteristics that go hand in hand with product design. This tour will provide an in-depth look at some of the most important names in this discipline, such as Vitra, a firm that has been around for more than 80 years and which tries to combine environmental sustainability, culture and commercial aspects in its designs when creating products. There will also be a stop at VBO Iluminación, aprestigious company dedicated to the manufacture of designer lighting and lighting projects, at Sargadelos, one of the oldest and most prestigious ceramics firms in Europe, and Bang & Olufsen, a Danish firm dedicated to the manufacture of high-end audiovisual products.Dates: 17 and 24 February, 3 and 10 MarchTime: 17.00 h.Bookings: https://udit.es/walk-and-talk/#
