The Degree in Fashion Design organised an exhibition in the hall of the building on Calle Colombia in which the creations of seventy-seven second-year students were displayed. These works are the result of a transversal collaboration between the subjects of Textile Technology and Fashion Projects, carried out throughout the first four-month period by lecturers Adriana Cagigas and Ernesto Naranjo.

In the exhibition, as well as enjoying the finished garments, the students' textile research notebooks could be seen, in which each one of them responds to its own theme and collects up to forty samples.

When designing each garment, they have worked on the creation processes, experimented with textiles, biomaterials, food waste, natural dyes and printing, as well as taking advantage of existing resources, such as leftover garments.

Finally, it should be noted that, in this challenge posed to the students, not only was the sustainability of the final garment sought, but the materials were treated as if they were living elements, with a soul, through which the future designers could reflect emotions throughout the creation process.

The textiles and materials used to create the garments have acted as mediators or catalysts of the experiences in the students' environment (family and personal grief, improvement of family and social ties...). The focus has been on the person, on connecting with their feelings, their emotions, on how to manage them, on relationships with others, even working with the Casa Kazaja Association in Spain and with another association that works with children with autistic spectrum disorder.

In short, different proposals have been developed that place textile research at the centre as the backbone to help overcome the different current social and environmental problems.
