In 2025, UDIT'sDegree in Product Design celebrates its tenth anniversary, consolidating its position as the leading degree in the training of professionals capable of combining creativity, innovation and sustainability

Throughout these ten years, the programme has trained hundreds of students who have excelled in national and international competitions, collaborations with prestigious companies and projects that have taken their talent beyond the classroom, demonstrating the impact and projection of the degree in the field of contemporary design

Throughout 2025 the Degree in Product Design has continued to demonstrate its ability to promote the creativity and talent of its students

These are just some of the milestones that reflect a particularly brilliant year for the programme and its academic community

Winners at the Crystal Cabin Awards

A team of five students from UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, qualified for the finals of the Crystal Cabin Awards, the most prestigious competition in the field of aircraft cabin innovation. Their project, R.A.I.S.S. (Restroom Autonomous In-flight Sanitising System), was selected as one of the three best in the world in the "University" category

The team, made up of Jaime Campos, Mateo Magaz, Guillermo Fernández Arias, Pablo Gil García de Viedma and Antonio Alejandro González, fourth year students of the Degree in Product Design, started from the evidence that the toilets in aircraft often present hygiene problems after several hours of flight due to the high passenger traffic and their constant use.

In this sense, R.A.I.S.S. is presented as an innovative hygiene system that incorporates an autonomous robot that cleans the floor after each use, thus guaranteeing an optimum level of cleanliness throughout the flight

This project was also selected to be exhibited at Producto Fresco 2025, an exhibition that brings together the best of the Community of Madrid in the field of product design and was sponsored by UDIT to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the degree

Feel The Peel's bitter oranges arrive at MOMA in New York

The team of students from UDIT'sDegree in Product Design, made up of Pablo Pesqueira, Javier Villasevil, Marta Poy, Aaron Truzman, Carmen Carranza and Diego Rodríguez ("Feel the Peel") qualified for the final of the BioDesign Challenge, held at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York with "Sombra y brisa" ("Shade and Breeze"

Their proposal is based on a deep-rooted environmental problem in the city of Seville: the massive waste of urban bitter oranges. From this underused raw material, they developed a biodegradable polymer that they used in the manufacture of traditional fans, thus vindicating design as a tool for local, cultural and ecological regeneration

Begoña Sunyé de Terry and María Sánchez, students of the Degree in Product Design at UDIT, were selected to exhibit at EDIT Napoli 2025, one of the most important international design events

They presented KNETT, a chair created with shoelaces and traditional braiding techniques, which combines lightness, strength and two seating modes in a steel structure. The project, realised in collaboration with Adidas and awarded Best Outdoor Chair at the Sit Furniture Awards 2025, stands out for its focus on the reuse of materials and the contemporary reinterpretation of artisanal techniques

llium, the project by Begoña Sunyé de Terry awarded at the LIT Lighting Design Awards

Begoña Sunyé de Terry, student of theDegree in Product Design and Development at UDIT, was awarded at the prestigious LIT Lighting Design Awards 2025 with her TFG, Illium.

Illium is a lamp designed to transform the study and work experience, using light not only as illumination, but also as a tool to encourage focus, concentration and time awareness, as well as to create a calm and enveloping environment.

Irene Alonso and Rodrigo Lacal create the trophies for the 4th Edition of the HPE CDS Tech Challenge

Irene Alonso Arias and Rodrigo Lacal Saavedra, fourth year students of theDegree in Product Design at UDIT, were responsible for the design and manufacture of the trophies awarded in the IV edition of the HPE CDS Tech Challenge, one of the most outstanding initiatives to promote young talent in technology

The project required a clearly technological inspiration and a nod to cloud storage, represented by curved shapes and the use of transparent and opaque methacrylate that interacts with light to generate colour variations depending on the angle and intensity of the light

Diego Rodríguez Klecker creates the trophies for the "Madrid, Capital of Ibero-America Awards ".

The design of the trophy "The Bridge", conceived and manufactured by Diego Rodríguez Klecker, student of the Degree in Product Design at UDIT, became the official symbol of the Madrid, Capital of Ibero-America Awards

The work visually represents the link that connects Spain and Latin America across the Atlantic and is made up of two bodies that converge in the centre (one engraved with text and the other with the map of Ibero-America), symbolising the two shores of the ocean. Its travertine marble base supports a gilded brass body that enhances the craftsmanship, elegance and symbolic meaning of this unique piece

The Atacama Chair is on display at Habitat's Nude space in Valencia

Nude Valencia is a contemporary design fair that brings together creators, brands and students to showcase innovative pieces and experimental projects in furniture and design objects. In its 2025 edition, it is exhibiting the Atacama chair, designed by UDITalumni Borja Gomendio

The conceptual inspiration for Atacama comes from the Atacama Desert, Chile, and is presented as a piece of furniture that arises from researching with thread fabrics forming an ergonomic and simple structure with a soft and pleasant chromatic range

Collaboration with Parfums Christian DIOR

Parfums Christian Dior and UDIT developed a joint project focused on the circular economy, in which third-year students of the Degree in Product Design transformed leftover materials from the brand's campaigns and displays into new products

This collaboration resulted in two proposals selected by the firm: the design by Álvaro Navarrete and Catalina de la Guardia, chosen as a gift for those attending their last convention, and Tramas, by Sofía Ruiz, chosen for the event's photobooth decorations.

Students present the Mayor of Madrid with a design celebrating his fatherhood

Coinciding with the inauguration of the UDIT Campus of Technology, Innovation and Applied Sciences, which was attended by the Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, the students of the Degree in Product Design presented him with a very special gift: a 3D printed rattle in the shape of the iconic bear and strawberry tree, symbol of the city.

This piece, which combines creativity, advanced manufacturing techniques and a nod to Madrid's identity, reflects the talent and originality of UDIT students
