Javier de Juan opens his new exhibition: Javier de Juan. In the heart of the city
The renowned artist and Honorary Professor of UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology Javier de Juan has inaugurated his new exhibition Javier de Juan. In the heart of the city.
Curated by Julieta de Haro, this retrospective, developed within the framework of the Madrid Design Festival, is a journey through the artist's career in the field of graphic design.
UDIT has participated in this exhibition with three pieces, two of them 3D printed and one made from wood. In the case of the first two, they have been produced thanks to FDM 3D printing, with a total of 8 pieces of PLA each, resulting in two sculptures of 38 centimetres in height each. In turn, for the wooden sculpture (with a height of over two metres), 331 pieces of tinted MDF have been used, subsequently mechanised, which have been placed on a steel base together with two internal profiles as a guide and reinforcement.
Graphic design through the eyes of Javier de Juan
Javier de Juan. In the heart of the city reviews four decades of work by the artist from Jaén and, in short, all his explorations in graphic design through works on all kinds of supports, from T-shirts to furniture.
The exhibition also includes the pieces produced by UDIT and a series of original documents and objects through which visitors can easily recognise the artist's evolution and his technical experimentation.
The exhibition can be visited, free of charge, until 19 October at the Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas (Calle de Montalbán, 12 - Madrid).
