Its renewal, which has just been announced, has been approved by a majority vote .

Maruca García, Director of the Fashion Department at UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, has been renewed as a Founding Academician of the Spanish Fashion Academy. A decision that has been approved by majority and that reflects her commitment to the consolidation of an institution that was created to make visible, protect and project the cultural, social and economic value of Spanish fashion

Last year, Maruca was invited to join the Spanish Fashion Academy as a Founding Academician, based on her extensive professional career in the sector and for her sensitivity to design, know-how and excellence in her work

Her continuity, as the Spanish Fashion Academy Foundation (FAME) points out, will contribute to strengthening this collective mission, based on the principles of excellence, plurality and service to the sector

The Spanish Fashion Academy Foundation pursues the recognition of Spanish fashion through the promotion of auteur fashion, which it understands as an instrument of artistic expression that enriches society and makes it freer, and for its development it encourages the interconnection of creation with high craftsmanship, training, research and business

Maruca García has a degree in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Master's degree in Advertising, Communication and Corporate Identity from the Camilo José Cela University. A specialist in dressmaking techniques, for years she ran her own design workshop, has her own brand of T-shirts, IKI ESSENTIALS and, currently, in addition to acting as Area Director, she teaches the subject of Industrial Dressmaking on the Degree in Fashion Design at UDIT.
