On Wednesday 22 January, the Campus of Design and Creative Industries of UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, was visited by the costume and set designer Iñaki Cobos.

In this session, organised by the University's Fashion Department, Iñaki Cobos spoke about his professional career, as well as about the complete process in the production of stage costumes for a play. He also explained how to research and incorporate new textile and dressmaking techniques in the development of costumes and how to bring to reality the figurines and commissions that come to the workshop.

Iñaki Cobos is a costume and set designer. After ending his career as a dancer, he became interested in designing and making costumes for dance. He furthered his costume studies in Madrid and in the workshops of the Paris Opera Ballet. He has founded his own stage costume studio specialising in ballet and among the commissions his workshop has received are the tutus for Don Quixote and The Nutcracker for the National Dance Company and the complete costumes for the work Afanador, also for the Spanish National Ballet.
