Packaging and branding. UDIT celebrates an encounter between Chilean and Spanish design
Juan Cayón, Rector of UDIT and Javier Velasco, Chilean Ambassador to Spain, chaired the event.
UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology hosted the round table Buen Packaging. Encuentro España - Chile, sponsored by ProChile, Chile Diseño and the University itself.
The meeting was chaired by Juan Cayón Peña, Rector of UDIT, and Javier Velasco Villegas, Ambassador of Chile in Spain, who were in charge of welcoming the attendees and opening the event with their participation.
This meeting, promoted by the Audiovisual and Graphic Creation Area and by the Department of International Relations of UDIT, in which professionals from different Spanish and Chilean companies dedicated to branding and packaging design participated, had as its main objective research, data analysis and a broad prospection, as well as the generation of a debate on the success of the internationalisation of the branding and packaging design service sector, understanding the strategy of foreign expansion.
Experience and criteria in the sector
From Spain, David Pérez Medina, Director of the Master's Degree in Graphic Design at UDIT, participated as moderator of the round table; Paco Adín, Creative Director and partner at Supperstudio; Neil Fruen, Creative Director at Delamata Design and Ana Isabel Terrés, Marketing Manager at Grupo DIA.
Juan Emilio Henríquez, Director of the Strategic Design Consultancy SEVEN7 and José Luis Bayer, Executive Director and Partner of the Oxígeno Group, participated as speakers at the round table on behalf of the Chilean delegation.
The meeting was also attended by Catalina Pérez, Founding Partner and President of Chile Diseño and Founding Partner of Diseños Otros Pérez; María Jesús Vial, Founding Partner of JVD Estudio; Ismael Prieto, Director at the DEO Design Studio; Amparo Urmeneta, Partner at Diseño Humano and Paloma Hidalgo, CEO of Music Paper.
