After winning the sixth edition of the Allianz EGO Award, Amara Caruncho, creative director of the firm Coconutscankill and student of the Degree in Fashion Design at UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, has paraded for the first time in the official calendar of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid with her collection "SOMMET".
The term "SOMMET" evokes the idea of reaching the peak, either in the geographical sense of reaching the top of a mountain or metaphorically by reaching the highest point in different aspects of life. It refers not only to physical elevation, but also to the realisation of goals. A term that speaks of personal and professional self-improvement.
The designer's proposal is presented as feminine and tough, just as she herself sees the modern woman. The colours red, yellow and blue stand out over the earthy tones developed in collaboration with Revoco, a Barcelona-based textile supplier that buys and sells surplus textiles for reuse, promoting circularity in the world of fashion.
For six months, Amara Caruncho has also had the opportunity to be advised by one of our University's lecturers, as a result of becoming the winner of the latest edition of the Allianz EGO Confidence in Fashion awards.
