Verallia, a brand of glass containers for food and beverages, completes the 10th Edition of its Design and Creation in Glass Competition in a joint call between Spain and Portugal, in which 183 students from 12 schools have participated. Under the slogan "Glass to enjoy the moment", the aim was to create a container that would provide an experience and allow the consumer to enjoy the moment of consumption.
Of the 74 entries submitted to the competition, the proposal by Andrea Torralba, a student of the Degree in Product Design, was one of the most distinctive and original, winning third prize.
"Sobremesa", the project presented by Andrea, is part of the trend called "Off-time" by the competition, which represents sustainable calm for a restful wellbeing.
Taking this idea and the moment after dessert as a basis, the student developed the concept of "Sobremesa" by designing a bottle of crema de orujo, as it is a common drink after the end of the meal and because it originates from Galicia, a special place for her.
The result is three bottles: the main transparent bottle with a metal stopper, a version of the more premium bottle in white with a wooden stopper, and the last one a version of the bottle with a different label, its shape divided into two halves with two different textures alludes to the mixture of the two ingredients of this liqueur: orujo and milk. And its label evokes the stains of the drinks on the tablecloth, after an after-dinner drink, which are synonymous with having had a good time.
