Javier Polo Pereda, a student of the Official University Degree in Fashion Design, presents his design Decoded Bloom in the 10th Month of Emerging Design, an exhibition project of the Museo del Traje that was created with the mission of offering an exhibition space to new designers, so that they can find a culturally recognised place to show their work and proposals.

Taking the floral world as the main idea and finding inspiration in the watercolours of Antonio López and the sensitive poetry of Juan Ramón Jiménez, the student has used the puzzle as a resource from which to build a collection.

Using recycled methacrylate, Javier Polo tries to take advantage of the thermomaleable condition of the material to make the pieces, as well as maintaining the sustainability of the project.

In addition, the student has worked with the Capacis Foundation, an organisation dedicated to supporting people with disabilities in their incorporation into adult life, especially in their integration into the world of work.

Being aware that manipulating a sewing machine or embroidering a sequin are tasks that are incompatible with the psychomotor skills of many people with disabilities, it was decided that the young people would be the ones to assemble the puzzle pieces. The fact of working with several colours has allowed them to participate in the creative process, being themselves the ones who have decided the compositions of colours that take part in the garments.

In this way, not only have they managed to involve these people in an artisanal task through the production of designer garments, but they have also had the opportunity to express their creativity and thus achieve a double affirmation of their potential.

The student's designs can be seen alongside the works of other young creators from 4 to 30 June at the Museo del Traje.
