The video game ZEP, developed by David Valero, Miguel Ángel Blanco, Víctor Manuel del Campo, Diego Fuentes, Norma Alejandra Martínez, Ignacio Tapia, Hugo Trillo and Álvaro Espinosa, students of the Degree in Video Game Design and Development at UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, has been nominated for the AEVI Bilbao Indie Game Contest International Video Game Competition.

The project will compete in the Best University Game category, in which games developed within the framework of undergraduate or postgraduate studies at Spanish universities participate and which rewards the best proposal with a prize of 2,000 euros

ZEP is a mixture of fishing mini-games and combat with bullet hell elements, all wrapped up in a cartoon aesthetic and with a lot of humour. The game, in which the player assumes the role of the young fisherman Zep, explores a vibrant marine world full of endearing characters and varied aquatic fauna on the island of Muutu

The winning entry will be unveiled during the Titanium Awards gala, which will be held as part of the BIG Conference 2025 and will take place on Friday 13 December at Palacio Euskalduna (Bilbao)

UDIT, present at BIG Conference 2025

For the fourth consecutive year, UDIT is taking part in the Bilbao International Games (BIG) Conference, which will be held in the city of Bizkaia on 12 and 13 December. The university, an academic partner of the event, will have four independent stands, where a selection of the best video games developed by the students of the last year of the Bachelor's Degree in Video Game Design and Development will be presented: ZEPnominee El Camino de Geraldo by Adriana Nieto, Carlos Álvarez and Eva García; Patata Caliente, by Marco López and Pilar Martín-Peña; and Starlit VS, by Pablo Ramón, Lucía Sevilla, Alejandro Férez, Noé Rodríguez, Jorge Luis Broncano and Raúl Ignacio Fábregas.
