Sandra Martín Simón is an architect, pharmacist and 2016 Fellow in Circular Economy by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. With more than twenty years of experience, her career is broad and diverse, ranging from the conceptualisation and design of biomaterials and bioproducts to interiors, ephemeral installations and housing.
He has also designed events, exhibitions and educational programmes, and has developed circular strategies for cities, advising municipalities on their sustainability goals. In addition, on an international level, she has collaborated with institutions such as the Guggenheim Museum in New York and the biotech Biohm in London.
She is the founder of Smartincircles, a transdisciplinary space that integrates design, science and technology to develop local biomaterials and bioproducts under a circular and regenerative approach. In the academic field, she has been Academic Manager of the Biodesign Challenge 2025 at UDIT, promoting the integration of biodesign in the training of product designers.
