Tíscar Espadas, winner of the fourth edition of the Allianz EGO Confidence in Fashion Award
The Andalusian firm Tíscar Espadas has won the Allianz EGO Confidence in Fashion Award at the 77th edition of MBFW Madrid.
The event, which held its fourth edition, aims to recognise and promote the creative and business development of young emerging talents in Spanish fashion.
In addition to a cash prize of 6,000 euros to continue with her project, the designer will receive business advice for six months from a professor at the University of Design and Technology, ESNE, and will have direct access to the next edition of Allianz EGO.
In this edition, the jury, composed of the model and presenter Nieves Álvarez; Ana Rodríguez, director of MBFW Madrid; Andrés Aberasturi, curator of allianz EGO; and Maruca García Paredes, director ofFashion area of ESNE, has taken into account not only the potential of the brand but also its national and international projection, being present in places like USA, Italy, United Kingdom and Japan, country in which it also has several physical points of sale.
Likewise, the experts have valued its groundbreaking way of creation and production, as the designer has opted for a single annual collection that gives continuity to her creations. In the words of Tíscar Espadas, "I do not intend for each collection to cancel out the previous one, but to expand it, complement it, increase its possibilities and versatility. They are garments full of very different stories, but they are not isolated and final stories, but there are common threads that make them a choral work in constant construction and evolution".
Espadas prioritises the quality and beauty of his garments and tries to make each piece a unique work, not a mere product. Therefore, the Allianz EGO Confidence in Fashion award means for her "a great boost to be able to take my project to a new level and have greater visibility by being able to show at the next edition of the Allianz EGO catwalk".
Along with the Andalusian, fourteen other firms participated in this edition of the event and also had the opportunity to show their collections and put them on sale in the Allianz EGO Showroom: Abelina, APRON I.D. for Nomads, BAMBAM, CRACK, David Moss, DENISE, DIEF STUDIO, ELEBÉ, JUAN VG, KEPEREZAXIKO, KM by LANGE, L'AMAR Contemporary, Lemāchet and MAL Studio Custom Project.
