Blanca de Bonrostro, student of Degree in Fashion Design at UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, has won the Pierre Cardin Young Designers Award, with her proposal The Rounded Suit, a reinterpretation of a Pierre Cardin dress from the seventies, which she accompanied with a handbag and a pair of shoes handmade with ceramic pieces.
The look is inspired by Pierre Cardin's codes, taking as its starting point the circle and curves that define his universe. It is born from the idea of constant movement and fluidity, the movement of the air being the original inspiration for the project. "I wanted everything to flow, for the shapes and volumes to convey lightness and energy," says the young designer .
The suit is made using traditional tailoring techniques, but with a more modern and sculptural approach. The structured crepe gives shape without losing movement, and the colours, turquoise and red, give strength to the brand's discourse, being a study of colour block and proportions so that everything works in balance .
As the winner of this international competition, Blanca de Bonrostro will enjoy a scholarship with the Maison Cardin design team in Paris, with all expenses paid. A unique opportunity to continue her training under the guidance of the best and in the company of the other two winners .
