The list of awards and recognitions granted to Daniel Alcolea, a graduate in Multimedia and Graphic Design at UDIT,University of Design, Innovation and Technology, and his project Paramera, continues to grow after being selected as the winner in the New Talents category of Selekted Bilbao 2025 .
Paramera is a variable display typography that is a contemporary reinterpretation of the emphatic gothic script of the 1272 poster of Molina de Aragón. With it, Daniel Alcolea seeks to strengthen the visual identity of this region and raise awareness about the loss of cultural heritage due to depopulation .
Thus, this typography supports cultural conservation and economic revitalisation through public use, commercialisation and free distribution. Moreover, its variable nature allows its height and weight to be modified, which offers great flexibility for its use in visual identity, signage, communication, etc., making it a versatile and functional graphic resource.
This project, which has already been recognised at the Young One Awards, the LAUS Awards or gaudeamusPROJECTA, has an important meaning for Daniel Alcolea, whose family is originally from Molina de Aragón, the most depopulated region in Europe .
Paramera will be included in the book Selekted - The Book 2025, which will be launched during the festival in November.
