Daniel Alcolea, alumni of the Degree in Multimedia and Graphic Design at UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, continues to reap success with his project Paramera, which has just been awarded a runner-up prize at the gaudeamusPROJECTA awards.

Paramera is a variable typeface designed with the aim of restoring the visual identity of Molina de Aragón, the least populated region in Europe. Inspired by the gothic calligraphy of its 1272 sign, it offers a contemporary reinterpretation rooted in local heritage.

This typeface supports cultural preservation and economic revitalisation through public use, marketing and free distribution. Thus, the project, with an important meaning for Daniel Alcolea, whose family originates from Molina de Aragón, is a call to protect forgotten identities and to rethink the future of depopulated rural areas across Europe.

This second prize in gaudeamusPROJECTA is a new success for Paramera, which has already been recognised in prestigious international competitions such as the Young One Awards or the LAUS Awards.
