UDIT shows an outstanding presence at Interihotel MAD24, the reference event in hospitality design.
UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology has participated, for the second consecutive year, as a collaborating entity of Interihotel, the largest design event for hotels and restaurants.
In this edition, MAD24, whose main theme is the Supernova, an astronomical phenomenon that lasts only a few days, but whose effects last over time, is organised around three main themes: BLOOM design, IMPACT design and VISIONARY design.
Rocío Sancho, Director of the Department of Interior Design at UDIT, has been part of the jury that awards the Interihotel MAD24 Awards, the awards that recognise the work of the people and brands that define hospitality interior design. The jury was also made up of professionals of the stature of Álvaro Matías, Director of Madrid Design Festival; Irene Trujillo, co-founding partner of MH - Women in Hospitality and Ángel Hernández, Member and Head of MATCOAM, Official Association of Architects of Madrid.
A catalyst event that disperses ideas and projects essential for the formation of the future of the sector.
The event, which was attended by more than 260 exhibiting brands, included a full programme of conferences, workshops and round table discussions with leading figures from the sector. In this sense, Rocío Sancho, Director of the Department of Interior Design at the University, also organised the round table "The user experience as a catalyst for design", with the participation of Gracia Cardona, Founder and CEO of Decotherapy as presenter; Rebeka Nemeth, lecturer at UDIT and co-founder of Nota Studio as moderator; as well as the architect and designer Héctor Ruiz Velázquez, the interior designer Paolo Mauri and the industrial designer and interior designer at Paradores, Cándido Parro.
For their part, the UDIT research groups "Universes on both sides. Fundamentals and interactions between design, reality and virtual space (VS)" with researchers Enrique Villamuelas, José Manuel Santos and Diana Albares; and "Regenerative Integral Design (DESIRe)" with the participation of researchers Montserrat Pichel, María Beltrán and Diana Albares have participated in a project at the AMBIT stand.
Specifically, the VS group collaborated in the design and development of totems with Generative Artificial Intelligence, giving rise to an interface designed to adapt to the style of any brand; while the DESIRe researchers participated in a dynamic activity with a project related to neuroarchitecture, the area of architecture that analyses how built spaces modify emotions and capacities, with the aim of building spaces that improve people's productivity.
