READ presents the seventh tour of 'From Spain With Design' in collaboration with the Madrid Designers Association (DIMAD) and sponsored by UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology.

The exhibition will be on display at the Central de Diseño de Matadero Madrid from 1 February to 17 March.

This tour will also form part of the programme of the Madrid Design Festival 2024.

After having successfully visited cities such as Santiago de Compostela, Aveiro (Portugal), Murcia, Valencia, Badajoz and Gijón, the acclaimed exhibition 'From Spain With Design: Identity and Territory' arrives in Madrid with design in countless aspects as the protagonist of its seventh tour.

Organised by the Spanish Network of Design Associations (READ) with the collaboration of the Madrid Designers' Association (DIMAD) and the sponsorship of UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, the exhibition will open its doors to the public from 1 February to 17 March at the Central de Diseño de Matadero Madrid, to give visibility to national design through initiatives carried out by Spanish professionals.

FSWD: Identity and Territory' is conceived as a living exhibition in its itinerancies and the pieces on display vary from one exhibition to another through a selection of professionals and studios in the territory. Madrid will not be an exception, and the collection of works that the exhibition brings together will incorporate proposals from Madrid design professionals and companies that will offer an updated panorama of the sector and of the innovations of the discipline in the region.

As usual, the exhibition will bring together different types of design work following a common thread made up of five thematic axes: "Identity and territory", "Intersections", "Internationalisation", "Sustainability" and "Complicities".

Under the umbrella of these axes, the visitor will find more than 100 pieces that during the almost two months that the exhibition will last will be accompanied by an intense programme of parallel activities developed by READ and DIMAD that includes talks and workshops, both for the general public and for professionals and companies.

Among the works can be seen creations by established designers such as the iconic Follow Me, by Inma Bermúdez; Totem, by Martín Azúa; Anémona, by Idoia Cuesta or the acclaimed Bota, by Noviembre Estudio, together with pieces by emerging designers working in new areas of design such as theBolina chair, by Amalia Puga or La Fresca, by Granada Barrero; the Amelia box, by Cenlitros metrocuadrado or the Vélez Collection, by Leblume Estudio.

The exhibition takes in designs from all territories in a panoramic vision of current design, from the most exclusive(Closca helmet) to the mundane(Carro 8 plus eco, by Rolser); from the industrial(Noray, by Jorge Herrera Estudio) to the artisan ( Barbian dress by Kos for Rodrigo Cuevas); from the physical(Val do Barco, by Tomás Alonso Estudio) to the virtual(Nomad Gardens).

FSWD is a project organised by READ that was born with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sport of the Government of Spain. In its itinerancy in Madrid it has the collaboration of DIMAD for its organisation and coordination, and the sponsorship of UDIT. On this occasion, the exhibition is part of the programme of the seventh edition of the Madrid Design Festival. The exhibition design, responsive and born of a national call for entries, is signed by Enorme Estudio.

Uqui Permui (DAG), Ángel Martínez (ADCV), Gloria Escribano (DIMAD) and Juan Lázaro (Cuenca Diseña) are the curators of the exhibition and coordinators of the FSWD project within READ.
