This is the balance of Referentum Talks 2023, the great event in graphic design which, for the third consecutive year, has been coordinated by the designer José Bardera and hosted and promoted by UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology.
The aim of the conference is to share knowledge and explore and navigate the past, present and future of graphic design and visual culture, to showcase the graphic excellence that surrounds contemporary society.

For two days, the UDIT Auditorium hosted some of the most renowned design studios from New York, Madrid and Barcelona.
The first day of conferences was opened by Santos Henarejos, co-founder of the branding and digital design studio Paseo, who gave an overview of the work developed by the studio over the last few years.
Daniel Rubio Arauna, Graphic Designer and Art Director at the Catalan studio Arauna, presented his vision and professional career in a conference in which he reviewed some of the works that have led him to win such renowned awards as Arts Director Club, D&DA or LAUS.
Martin Azambuja, Senior Graphic Designer at the New York studio Porto Rocha, closed the first day of the conference. Azambuja gave a conference in which he analysed, on the one hand, his personal career and, on the other, the work developed by Porto Rocha for clients such as Nike or the Sundance Film Festival in Utah, among many others.
The second day began with the Lizárraga Palau + bRIDA conference by Javier Torres, Co-founder of Lizárraga Palau, and Eduardo Cholvis, Co-founder and Creative Director at bRIDA.
At the conference, Torres and Cholvis talked about their professional careers and explained some of the branding campaigns they have worked on throughout their careers for brands such as Vidal&Vidal, Ownia and Beneko.
Marc Catalá, co-founder with Pablo Juncadella of the Mucho studio in 2003, closed the second day of Referentum Talks.
During the early years of Mucho, and while working on branding, editorial design and packaging projects, Marc also worked as Creative Director of the British newspaper The Observer. In 2006 he decided to focus all his attention on Mucho and settled in Barcelona, his home city. During his talk, Marc explained how since then he has led multiple projects for national and international brands such as Aeromexico or Bash.
