UDIT holds its Undergraduate and Postgraduate Graduation ceremonies in front of more than 3,000 people
UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, celebrated last Saturday 5th July its graduation ceremonies of Degree, Higher Level Training Cycle and Master, corresponding to the promotion 2024/2025.
The students of the Official University Degrees in Audiovisual Design and Illustration, Product Design, Fashion Design, Multimedia and Graphic Design, Interior Design and Bachelor in Interior Design, Design and Development of Video Games and Virtual Environments, Fashion Management and Communication and the British Degree in Animation, as well as the students of the Higher Degree in 3D Animation, Games and Interactive Environments and the Official University Masters in Illustration, User Experience, Fashion Design, Product Design, Interior Design, Graphic Design and Artificial Intelligence, were able to enjoy an exciting event that served as the finishing touch to an important stage of their lives.
A special day for all of them, which also reflected the growth of the University with the graduation of the first graduating classes of two innovative degrees: the Degree in Audiovisual Design and Illustration and the Degree in Fashion Management and Communication.
Both events were presided over by Dr. Juan Cayón, Rector Magnificent of UDIT, who wanted to highlight the excitement and pride of seeing the students achieve their goals, reflecting educational excellence, a fundamental part of the University's DNA. "You should be as proud of your alma mater as I am of our organisation. In your time at the University, UDIT grew in every way: the University's average entry grade went up, we increased the number and quality of professors, we deepened our pedagogical model of teaching by doing, we strengthened our institutional values, we grew in facilities, our students and professors received and won more national and international awards, hundreds of professional events were held for you and with you, and we consolidated ourselves as an autonomous and independent university, among other achievements. [...] I honestly believe that the balance is simply impressive and is the result of everyone's efforts. It is a titanic effort, in which you are at the forefront, because you are, without a doubt, our reason for existing as an institution.
Two exciting events to celebrate talent and effort
The graduation ceremony of the undergraduate and postgraduate students was attended by Mr. Vicent Berbegal, president and founder of ACTIU, as sponsor of the graduating class.
In his speech, Vicent Berbegal stressed that "everything starts at this moment. This race, which you have chosen and finished, is not the end, it is the starting point. And it is the starting point where your personal commitment, your belief in your project, your belief in yourselves, is what will make you happy, positive and bring improvements to this society".
For its part, the academic staff of the University was represented by Dr. Athenea Mata Cortés, Vice-Rector for Students, Employability and Internationalisation of UDIT, who addressed the students with an inspiring speech: "when you go out into the job market now and they say no, they are going to say no, when they criticise your portfolios, often not being fair to you, think that it is because there will be something better waiting for you. It's not about settling, it's about looking beyond, about understanding that what at first may seem like the end of the world, in time may turn into an opportunity you never even dreamed of".
In the case of the Graduation ceremony of the Postgraduate students, Mr. Álvaro Matías, Director of Madrid Design Festival and Founder of ALMADAS, acted as the godfather of the graduating class, pointing out in his speech that "creators are the best accomplices to dream with new imaginaries [...] This privileged environment of relationship is an oasis of inspiration, knowledge, fun and entertainment. But creativity is not only a means of expression, it is a way of changing the way we look at the world. There is no one like creators to teach us how to interpret what is happening around us from a different perspective, they are the best guide to decipher the environment we inhabit".
At this event, the academic staff was represented by Maripaz Madrid, lecturer at UDIT, who wanted to highlight the importance of the training received and the construction of a professional profile. "I encourage you to continue working on your self-knowledge and, from there, continue to discover your talents, what you are special at, what you like and what others value, and also identify what you need to continue to improve or change or simply accept. Take control of your career path, this will lead you in the right direction, which will match your vocation with your potentials and values".
Two events that represent the highlight of the academic year and are the perfect finishing touch to the exciting journey that is the training of students at UDIT.
