DOCTORAL SCHOOL

Doctoral School

The Doctoral School is the body responsible at the University of Design, Innovation and Technology for organising, coordinating and supervising, within its sphere of management, the offer and activities linked to the official doctoral degrees offered by the institution. We currently have our first official university doctorate in force: Design and Technology Applied to Business, with a view to continuing to develop programmes with a projection of international inclusion in response to the needs of society and business.

The mission of the Doctoral School is to manage, coordinate and promote the Doctoral Programmes, ensuring the comprehensive training of researchers in the development of research projects aimed at obtaining the title of Doctor. This work is carried out within the framework of the academic organisation of the School and the administrative management of the programmes, under the supervision of the Doctoral School's Management Committee.

In order to fulfil its mission, the Doctoral School will define and implement its own strategy, aligned with the policies derived from the University's Strategic Plans and in accordance with the provisions of the University's Rules of Organisation and Operation of the University of Design, Innovation and Technology.

MEMBERS OF THE DOCTORAL SCHOOL STEERING COMMITTEE

The Doctoral School's Steering Committee is an interdisciplinary body, bringing together academic, scientific and management backgrounds that enrich the School's organic life from different areas of knowledge. Its integration responds to a rigorous, systematic and plural vision, capable of articulating the consolidated experience of those with extensive experience in teaching, research and university management, with the contribution of young profiles that incorporate a current, committed and demanding view of academic processes. To this is added the participation of doctoral students, as an expression of open, representative governance that is attentive to the real needs of the research community in training.

Dr. José Luis Olazagoitia

Chairman of the Steering Committee

He is currently Vice-Rector for Research at UDIT, a position from which he has promoted the strengthening of research activity, academic articulation and scientific projection of the University. His profile brings together a solid doctoral training in the field of engineering and extensive experience in teaching, research, university management and development of technology-based projects. In addition to this, he has experience in academic management and in applied innovation environments, which gives him a strategic, rigorous and interdisciplinary vision that is particularly valuable for chairing the Steering Committee of the Doctoral School and guiding its development with criteria of quality, institutional solvency and research projection.
