Dra. Julia Sáinz

Julia Sainz Cortés holds a PhD in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid, where she also completed an Official Postgraduate Master’s Degree in Art, Creation and Research. She has developed her career as an illustrator, graphic designer and art director in advertising agencies, while also entering the audiovisual field through the direction of music videos. She has also taken part in numerous group exhibitions; she was selected for the Injuve Awards for Young Creation in the Illustration category and received an Honourable Mention in the 14th Contemporary Engraving Award of the Directorate-General for Women of the Community of Madrid. She is currently a lecturer in the Fashion Department at the University of Design, Innovation and Technology (UDIT), in Madrid. As a researcher, she works within the “Design, Visual Culture and Gender” research group at the same institution, attending conferences and publishing articles and book chapters, as well as taking part in various outreach and research activities related to teaching.
