OBJECTIVES

The UDIT Research Group in Design, Visual Culture and Gender (GENIUS) falls within the fields of Arts, Digital Humanities and Social Sciences.

It is an interdisciplinary group that establishes a nexus between various academic disciplines. On the one hand, the artistic dimension, developed around design, incorporates innovation as a driving force for the advancement of scientific knowledge; on the other, the field of communication analyzes the power of images in contemporary society. This approach is complemented by the gender perspective as a transversal axis of equity and equality, which allows for addressing multiple interdisciplinary fields and contributing to the progress of knowledge from different academic areas.

The research team presents a multidisciplinary profile, composed of researchers with extensive experience. Currently, the GENIUS Group is developing the internal research project Women + design (RED-Diseña), available at https://doi.org/10.63206/G26.4, along with the Journal of Gender, Design and Innovation Research (GDI), thereby consolidating its research, editorial, and knowledge transfer activities in the field of design and gender studies.
