How to achieve excellence in the sports fashion sector: 'Puma x ESNE" Conference
For more than 70 years, Puma has been one of the world's leading sports fashion brands. It is a company that, since its beginnings, has sought to achieve excellence in its sector, something it has achieved thanks to its countless advances in textile innovation and its ability to incorporate the best talent into its team of professionals.
To learn about the daily work of this leading company, ESNE welcomed Juan Martínez and Elvira Gutiérrez, Senior Designer Footwear and Senior Manager People Connection and Attraction of Puma, respectively, on 22 November, in the conference 'Puma x ESNE: Strive to improve'.
Creating a trainer requires an extensive and complex process: from the selection of materials, through the study of ergonomics to the adaptation of the garment to the street style trends of each region of the world. This is Juan Martínez's work within the company and what he talked about to the ESNE students during his talk 'The Creative Process'.
Elvira Gutiérrez began her talk with a journey through the history of the brand: from Puma's first creations (including the first sponsorship of the Brazilian footballer Pelé in the 1970 World Cup), to the sponsorship of elite athletes such as Usain Bolt and the latest collaborations with the singer Dua Lipa. As a final climax, in his talk 'The Puma Experience', he explained to the students what he looks for and what Puma looks for in order to attract and incorporate new talent into the company, and he summarised it in three keys: positivity, proactivity and teamwork.
Once both presentations were over, Juan and Elvira were able to see the work of several students from different ESNE degrees, with the aim of meeting some of the best students of the University and with the intention of incorporating new talent to the Puma team.
