Unity is one of the most widely used development engines in the global video game industry. Since its launch in 2005, it has become an essential tool for large studios and independent developers alike, thanks to its flexibility, cross-platform approach and affordable learning curve.

Today, Unity powers a very important part of the titles released each year and is present in all stages of the creative process: from artistic conception to programming and final optimisation, standing out both for its ability to create high-performance games for multiple platforms (PC, consoles, mobile, VR/AR platforms), and for offering a flexible ecosystem , allowing designers, programmers and artists to work collaboratively in a common environment.

Its versatility and power have established it as one of the key technologies in the digital entertainment sector, which, at the same time, has popularised its own programme of professional certifications in areas such as programming, design or the development of VR experiences.

Although there are several ways to obtain a Unity certification, one of the most attractive is to take the Higher Degree in 3D Animation, Games and Interactive Environments at UDIT, which offers students two different routes depending on how they want to develop their professional future.

Unity Certified User: Programmer

This is a certification that validates fundamental competencies in the development of video games and interactive applications.

With this certification, students demonstrate that they are able to develop their own projects using C# in Unity, that they master the navigation of the engine interface and understand the basics of its API.

In addition, they prove their ability to iterate through prototypes, debug code and solve programming challenges efficiently. They are also proficient in creating and programming functional state machines, a key skill in designing interactivity and behaviour in video games and applications.

It is the first step towards becoming an experienced professional in the use of this technology, followed by more advanced certifications such as Certified Associate Programmer, Certified Associate Game Developer or Certified Professional Programmer.

Unity Certified User: Artist

This certification validates essential skills in the creation and management of artistic content within the Unity engine. It is aimed at digital artists, graphic designers, 3D modellers and creators of visual experiences who wish to accredit their mastery in the production of environments, characters and visual elements for video games, interactive animations or extended reality (XR) applications.

In this sense, it recognises skills in areas such as the import and optimisation of assets, the handling of materials and textures, the configuration of lights and cameras, the management of animations and the creation of user interfaces. It also emphasises knowledge of the artistic workflow within Unity.

Those interested in deepening their knowledge in this field can, once they have obtained this certification, prepare for more advanced ones such as "Certified Associate Artist" or "Certified Professional Artist".

The most sought-after skills in the industry

The Higher Degree in 3D Animation, Games and Interactive Environments at UDIT stands out for offering comprehensive training that combines artistic creativity with the technical skills most in demand in the industry.

Its practical approach, based on real projects and the intensive use of professional tools such as Unity, ensures that students not only acquire an advanced mastery of the engine, but also obtain one of two certifications at the end of the degree , depending on their professional orientation.

In this way, UDIT graduates go out into the job market with a highly competitive profile and internationally recognised accreditations, which open the doors to a wide range of new opportunities.

One of the great challenges in today's technological ecosystems is to identify opportunities for collaboration between agents with different profiles. This need was the starting point for the Master's thesis of Yannick José Medina, a student of the Master's in Artificial Intelligence at UDIT, who developed an innovative solution for Secpho, a cluster of companies specialising in DeepTech. His proposal: a conversational recommendation system based on artificial intelligence that facilitates and speeds up the connection between partners.
