Alba Castro, alumni of the Degree in Multimedia and Graphic Design, and Daniela González, alumni of the Master's Degree in Graphic Design at UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, have designed the packaging for the special edition launched by La Violeta, a brand known for its emblematic sweets, on the occasion of its 110th anniversary .
This is a commemorative edition of two of the most representative products of this iconic brand, violet sweets and assorted chocolates, which will be available while stocks last in its shop, located in Plaza de Canalejas, 6 (Madrid).
Alba Castro and Daniela González's proposal is inspired by Madrid modernism, a style that, like La Violeta, celebrates dedication and detail. From its organic lines and floral motifs, it reinterprets the violet flower from a contemporary language, taking as a reference architectural icons such as the old Doré Cinemas or the Palacio Longoria .
The design is articulated around a carefully balanced typographic composition, which integrates harmoniously with the ornament. The young designers opted to apply a dry-embossed finish on Fedrigoni Freelife Merida paper, taking advantage of its natural texture to accentuate the tactile part of the design, so that the paper ceases to be a support and becomes an expressive element that amplifies the delicacy of the design and the sensation of holding it in one's hands.
A unique and special project from the hand of a century-old brand like La Violeta, which is part of the collective memory of Madrid and which, throughout its 110 years of history, has managed to keep its essence intact and conserve its character and its way of doing things over time .
