The poster designed by Alejandra Cala, student of the Master's Degree in Illustration at UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, has won the competition organised by the University's GENIUS Research Group on the occasion of 8M, International Women's Day.
The poster, which shows a heart surrounded by flames and accompanied by a phrase, is inspired by this phrase: "we are the heart of those who no longer beat". Alejandra read it for the first time at an 8M march and has been with her ever since. For her, this powerful phrase speaks of existing, living and fighting in a world where not all women have had the opportunity to do so.
The process of creating this work was, according to the student, quite intuitive, based on the connection with her own experience as a woman living in an unequal world. From there, she illustrated a heart in flames, as a representation of the spirit of all the women who unite every 8M around the planet.
