The work of Daniel Alcolea, a graduate in Multimedia and Graphic Design from UDIT, University of Design, Innovation and Technology, has won first prize and a Merit in the current edition of the prestigious Young Ones Student Awards.

Paramera, a variable typeface designed with the aim of restoring the visual identity of Molina de Aragón, the least populated region in Europe, has been recognised in this important competition as the winner in the Type Design Family (TDC - focused on typography and aimed specifically at students) category. It has also received a Merit in the Type Design category (ADC - the best of the professional categories of the Art Directors Club Annual Awards).

Daniel Alcolea's typography, inspired by the gothic calligraphy of the 1272 poster of Molina de Aragón, offers a contemporary reinterpretation of the same, while drawing on the local heritage.

A project with an important meaning for the young designer, with which he wanted to call for the protection of forgotten identities and to rethink the future of depopulated rural areas, not only in Spain but throughout Europe.

This recognition rewards the talent and vision of the designer, as well as the impact of this original and significant typography.
