Javier Ballester García

Telecommunications Engineer and a leading professional specialising in the management, governance and continuous improvement of international security and cybersecurity projects. Currently, he is responsible for PMO and Cybersecurity Projects at Telefónica Tech, where he leads strategic IT/OT initiatives for IBEX-35 companies, optimising operating models through the use of Artificial Intelligence and agile and traditional methodologies.

Throughout his professional career, he has managed highly complex programmes in critical infrastructures both in Spain and Latin America (including nuclear power plants and penitentiary centres), managing teams of more than 100 professionals and budgets of more than 30 million euros.

Academically, he holds a Master's Degree in Cybersecurity Management from OBS Business School and a degree in Security Company Management from ICAI-ICADE, in addition to having completed postgraduate MBA programmes. His practical experience is backed by prestigious international certifications in management and security, including CISM, PMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master (SMC) and ITIL.

With a strong teaching profile and vocation as a mentor, he has been teaching the subject of "Cybersecurity and compliance" since 2018. He has also created and taught multiple internal training courses in Telefónica on project management (PMP and PMI-ACP) and is co-author of the chapter on cybersecurity in the book "Corporate Defence and Compliance".
