Syra Peláez Orero

She is a researcher and expert in gender studies. She holds a PhD in Information Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Master’s degree in Sociocultural Analysis of Knowledge and Communication. Her doctoral thesis focused on sexuality amongst young people from a sociocultural perspective. She has worked in social intervention (co-ordinating the ‘Espacios de Igualdad’ initiative for Madrid City Council) and as a consultant on issues relating to equality, the prevention of gender-based violence and diversity. She is currently working in academia.
